De Hoek was formerly a doctor’s residence from an era when the
doctor was one of the community’s pillars and lived in a style
befitting his position.
In 2005 Gunther and Balbina Huerttlen have added their warm Bavarian
hospitality to the leafy, oak-lined streets of Robertson and changed
it into GUBAS DE HOEK, the place, where you meet, eat, sleep
in the valley of wine and roses.
Apart from the wonderful ambience of this lovingly restored
home-from-home, we offer excellent cuisine, under the personal
attention of former head chef, Gunter, whose state of the art
kitchen helps him to provide gourmet meals which will tantalise your
taste buds.
Retiring for the night through the creeper-covered courtyard to a
super-long 2.20 meter bed, the guest will notice that each room is
individually and charmingly
decorated where today’s luxury is added
to old- world charm.
While we are proud to be **** rated by the Tourism Council of South
Africa, we consider our guests to be more important and, if they
come back to us, we are very happy.
The big shady garden invites you to relax on comfortable sun beds or
in the hammock by the splash-pool, while reading your favourite book
or listening to the birds.
Be our guest, we are looking forward to welcoming you.
Gunther, Balbina and the team.
