Start your morning on the renowned Fish Eagle Hiking Trail at Van Loveren Wine Estate, a moderate 5- kilometer loop through lush Fynbos, with panoramic views of the Breede River.

It is the attention to detail which is so much loved by our guests. We work hard to improve these details permanently.
We used the quiet winter months for annual renovation. It starts in one corner and goes on and on.
3 rooms and one bathroom are shining with new floors.
The whole house, the windows and shutters receive a new coat of paint and are shining bright.
The electric sockets are multifunctional and so much more.

Our team was working very hard and is looking forward to welcoming you again.

This charming 3-bedroom house is in the green part of Robertson, close to shops and restaurants. It is fully equipped and furnished and has 2 bedrooms with huge built-in cupboards, 1 office, 1 ½ bathrooms, a nice big kitchen with a breakfast table and a big lounge and dining room with Smart TV. It opens up to a wonderful garden with an abundance of plants, flowers and trees. It is fully fenced. One can enjoy wonderful evenings in the covered pavilion with a gas braai, fire pit and outdoor furniture. With free WIFI you’ll stay connected and your car is parked in a garage.

A fire in Nqubela destroyed all the belongings of hard-working mostly Zimbabwean farm workers.
They came home and all was gone and destroyed.

Now it is time to help.
Smart, the leader of the Zimbabwean community in Robertson approached Balbina.
I managed to get food parcels for every victim the next day.

Within a week, Abrie Marais from AH Marais helped with roof sheets, Balbina’s brother with his family from Germany supported buying nails and accessories and the houses could be rebuilt.

The smile on the faces of the people is the biggest Christmas present.

Spring. A season as beautiful as its name. A season that reminds us to embrace joy and love. A season that reminds us that change is the only constant. A season that reminds us that nature is the best artist out there. A season that reminds us to appreciate the little things.
Make a walk around the Robertson airfield, discover the flowers in Vrolijkeid, drive along the Wine Route 317 and you will see the first fruit trees in blossom. The earth loves with flowers.

The introduction from the winemakers. The limestone cowboys ride high in the Robertson Wine Valley.

Day 1:
Enjoy a stunning drive to McGregor. If you’re looking for coffee and cake first, make a stop at the Donkey sanctuary. Your children will love the donkeys. About 10 km after the little village, you’ll find LORDS wine estates in the middle of nowhere. Taste their Cap Classique, Chardonnays, Shiraz and Pinot Noir, while your children are having a great time at the playground.
Enjoy a nice dinner in the garden at Four Cousins restaurant in Robertson.

Day 2:
Follow the “Golden Mile”. Along the Flower Route 317 your 1. Stop will be Bon Courage, where the Bruwer family crafts highly awarded quality wines and the Jacques Bruwer Cap Classique. The children are safe at the playground by Café Maude.
Be captivated by Chardonnay and Cap Classique. Admire the stunning rose garden at Weltevrede Wine Estate, while your children are discovering the adventure playground. Lunch: Choose from the deli or be culinarily spoilt at Kapokbos restaurant.

Day 3:
Enjoy breakfast in the garden before you hit the road for your next adventure.

Day 1:
Celebrate what matters at Graham Beck with a nice glass of Cap Classique.
After checking in, Ramble in Robertson. Discover the café’s galleries and there is “More to share” at the Robertson Winery.
Get a foot massage on the barefoot path. Make a dip into the pool at GuBas de Hoek meet eat sleep.

Day 2:
After breakfast travel along the scenic Wine Route R317 to Weltevrede Wine Estate.
Take a walk through the vineyards, and stroll through the beautifully landscaped garden.
Be captivated by Chardonnay and make your own Cap Classique. There is always a reason.

We like to thank Smart, Lovemore, and others from the Zimbabwean community, as well as Nancy from GUBAS DE HOEK for their engagement and support, that the right people could gain from our food hampers, which gave at least a small release to the people.

Our team at GUBAS DE HOEK consists of immigrants from different countries and locals.

For those, who started the riots, please remember, that employers do not want troublemakers!
Put your efforts into your education, which will guarantee you jobs.
Violence creates more problems!

People will get work when they are willing to educate themselves and willing to learn.
In any kind of job, one needs friendliness, respect for the people, and rules. One must be willing to perform to do a job always as best as you can, at the time when the guests/clients/harvest do request it.

Arrive in Robertson, enjoy a beer tasting with a nice dinner at Four Cousins restaurant in Robertson.
Our sumptuous breakfast makes you going for the day.
If the sun is out, start your nice 2 hours hiking trail around the Robertson airfield. Amazing sights of beautiful Karoo flowers are guaranteed.
Now one can go for wine. Rietvallei, Kranskop or follow the R317 to Viljionsdrift, at the banks on the Breederiver, where you can bark on a cruise. Enjoy the garden from Van Loveren and hide back to GUBAS DE HOEK to relax in the garden. Watch the sunset with a sundowner in your hand.
Several options for dinner are available.

Our breakfast awaits you for another fantastic day.

Make a stop a Graham Beck for a glass of bubbly, follow to the Karoo Botanical garden. Hide back to Cape Town.

10th edition race pack Ride to Nowhere in Mc Gregor 11-12 Sept 21

Friday 10 September 2021 there is a pre Race as well or just make your own challenge to the Die Galg Road and make a stop at Lords Wine Estate.

The good news, we still have rooms available for this weekend and the distance to McGregor is only 20 km.

Langeberg Sky Race Saturday 7 August 2021 Robertson

The local peak Arangieskop (1696m) is the home for the race and is a local legend that towers over the area. Local trail runner and the inspiration for this event, Werner Honing, has personally built and repaired most of the trails used in this mountain classic.
The Race Village is situated at Die Laaitjie, a farm near the Dassieshoek Nature Reserve which is 7km from Robertson.
No worries, GUBAS DE HOEK meet eat sleep has still cozy comfortable rooms available. Hot strong coffee and a continental breakfast can be arranged early. Stay 2 nights, come back from the race, enjoy a nice hot shower. It’s time now to enjoy a nice lunch at one of the wine estates and relax the rest of the weekend in our beautiful garden.
